It doesn't matter if they think the man dies in you for keeping silent in the face of tyranny.

When your ego is crushed by some sheer arrogance and all you can say in response to being cursed is, 'I love you'.  It doesn't matter  if the world construes this as a demonstration of weakness.

Alex Ibru (1945 - 2011) It's hard to believe Alex Ibru is gone! Wish I'd made a return visit to the massive international ecumenical centre in Agbarha-Otor, near Ughelli, where he lived, and from where we brewed the contents of the centre-spread Guardian on Sunday. Yes, I was proudly a pioneering Editorial member of the Committee of Resource Persons for the Ibru International Ecumenical Centre. The magnificence and the aura of paradise in the Centre was better experienced than imagined.

A truly  genuine Philantropist who never acted for the sake of publicity,  Alex had a genuine heart for people, values and charity.  Above all, he feared God and was unbelievably humble. We all interacted with him as pals. The values of true and conscientious leadership shared by him lingers on. "Conscience nurtured by Truth"!

Alex Ibru was a constant target of the Abacha-led military junta. The ghastly gunshots he sustained during Abacha's reign of terror may have culminated in his eventual demise.

Publisher of the most potent and most widely circulated National Daily Newspaper in Nigeria (The Guardian), Alex Uruemu Ibru  (March 1945 – November 2011), Adieu!

Candle in remebrance of 9/11The 9/11 attack on America was an attack on the entire world. That was in part, the genesis of the global recession and depression that's been taking its toll on virtually every nation, every family and every person today.

The magnitude of the destruction can only be well appreciated by those who experienced the loss of their loved ones. May the almighty grant them all the fortitude to bear the loss.

We join America and the entire world in crying against the forces of terrorism, heartlessness and wickedness that are ravaging our world today. God bless America! God bless our world!!

Employees at the Waterford Centre of the TalkTalk Group had been gearing up to join their colleagues in Manchester this weekend 10th September for a lavishly massive company-wide party tagged 'The Big Get-Away'.  However, prior to the weekend party, the real big get-away arrived today with the official announcement of the closure of the Waterford centre within the next 30 days with a loss of about 600 jobs.
