The story of a world at peace and prosperity cannot be complete without a tribute to the Irish people whose expertise, hardwork and large hearts were responsible for building and developing many countries like the USA, Australia, Canada and many countries of the world from Europe to Africa.

This was re-echoed yesterday in Waterford city, at the commemoration of the unveiling of the Irish tricolour of orange, white and green, which is the colour of the Irish National flag.

The event, which was full of colour and pageantry, had Cllr. Mary Roche, the Mayor of Waterford, delivered a rousing speech that eulogised the illustriousness of the Irish people, especially the Waterford-born Thomas Francis Meagher, who brought the silk tricolour of orange, white and green from Paris, signifying the genesis of the good relationship between Ireland and France.  Afroradio was there and we were able to bring you a sneak peek of the event in this video. Enjoy!
